Here are some Favorite things I learned about and will share with others. I couldn't just choose one. I liked being introduced to Flickr, will continue to use it and share it with my family and friends. I think I will use WebApps both at home and with family. World Cat is a wonderful tool that I will want to use in the future. Library Thing was a find that I will continue to use with my home library and have already started sharing with family. And RSS feeds are a great convenience and time saver and possibly my favorite - I love adding them to the home page on my laptop.
I think wikis were my least favorite and not something that I will seek out to use.
I surprised myself with blogging. I really enjoyed this challenge and learning about Web 2.0. It even helped me learn how to use features on my new smart phone. It became a frequent topic of conversation in the branch. Staff members helped each other with the 23 Things and enjoyed sharing their blogs with each other. While I think the library should be doing most of the things that we learned about, I think podcasting and adding content to YouTube are 2 things that the library should focus on. I think an important feature that the library should provide to customers as far as Web 2.0 is training. Classes should be offered for customers for many of the 23 things that we explored in this challenge. While much of Web 2.0 is already being used by teens, there are alot of adults who would take advantage of it with a little training. After all, look at what we have done over the past 10 weeks.
